Some very exciting news for anyone using Shopify POS, or considering a move - the Shopify POS Hub has officially launched and is now available in the Shopify Hardware Store. It’s a small piece of hardware, but it solves one of the biggest operational issues we consistently see in-store for our clients.
The Reality of Wireless POS Setups
With the POS Hub, all your accessories connect directly into your main till device, even on iOS! Yep, you heard that right.
On paper, a fully wireless setup sounds ideal. Clean, minimal, no cables. But in reality, it’s been one of the most common points of failure we see across retail stores in Ireland using Shopify POS. If you’ve worked with Shopify POS in-store, you’ll recognise these straight away:
Socket scanners dropping mid-transaction
Receipt printers disconnecting randomly
Staff stuck troubleshooting in front of customers
When these happen in store, it slows everything down at the worst possible times.

What the Shopify POS Hub Actually Fixes
The POS Hub replaces those unstable Bluetooth connections with wired connections through a simple countertop device. Instead of relying on wireless connectivity, everything plugs in directly:
Barcode scanners
Receipt printers

Cash drawers
